What is a semiconductor? It’s usually made of materials with an appointed electrical resistance (it is between that of a conductor and a non-conductor). The resistance of semi-conductors also depends on changes in temperature or added “impurities”.
The word “admixtures” refers to the other substances added to the material. Semiconductors are marked as power semiconductor devices of type-n and type-t according to the type of complete material.
They make diodes as well as transistors using both these variants of semi-conductors. These days silicon is eventually turning into the most wide spread material for producing semi-conductors.
Diode then is the electronic unit created of semiconductor material. It lets electrical current go only in one sense. Moore’s law gave way to the development of thyristors theory. What is the most important point to manufacture complex power semi-conductor equipment at lower cost? Lithography is. Speaking of optical lithography, it now leads to the development of other techniques as it has met its development limit. It is now gradually being substituted by more contemporary ultraviolet lithography and nano-imprint lithography. Since recently specialists also view x-ray lithography and electron beam lithography as suitable candidates. In Russia voltage sensors were discovered. Sensors are needed in many devices for various destinations. The voltage sensors find their use in business, manufacture and everyday constructions. The voltage sensors may be of various value and shape. Like those motion detectors signing on the lights or sometimes radiation counters.
It’s by now no possibility for the current sensors to function alone. The power system dispatchers are made to provide supervisory control over many operations like opening or blocking circuit breakers in substation, controlling voltage, frequency, power flow and other system properties, monitoring the scheduled interchange of power between the adjacent power systems, counting and analyzing various system alarms.
The full view of the power system must be sent to the controllers from the monitors on some PCs of various substations. With the use of respective interfacing matrials the status of CB’s, igct, isolators and analog values such as MVAR, MW, Hz, Amps etc. was fixed in the RTU. Russia and China are now the most active exporters in this field.
